Built on the rock-solid Fedora 43 foundation, it ditches the usual post-install hassle by shipping with RPM Fusion, multimedia codecs, optimized CachyOS kernels, and proper NVIDIA/AMD drivers right out of the box. The big surprise? KDE Plasma 6.5 is now the flagship (sorry Budgie fans, it’s still there if you want it), and it’s never looked or felt this smooth. From 1440p 120+ FPS gaming on my laptop to a full desktop experience on a Raspberry Pi 4 and Pinebook Pro, Ultramarine 43 finally feels like the “just works” Fedora that doesn’t sacrifice speed or bleeding-edge features. After 48 hours of heavy daily driving, I’m calling it: this is the most complete, versatile, and downright enjoyable Fedora-based distro I’ve used all year.
