T-Mobile Extends Partnership with MLB, Offers Free MLB.TV to Customers until 2028
T-Mobile customers can continue to enjoy live and on-demand out-of-market games, pregame and postgame shows, and access to team affiliates’ games on MLB app.
In an announcement today, T-Mobile disclosed that it has prolonged its alliance with Major League Baseball (MLB) to grant its customers free MLB.TV subscriptions until 2028. This extension of the partnership follows T-Mobile’s longstanding practice of providing MLB.TV as a complimentary perk for its customers over the past eight years.
Free MLB.TV for T-Mobile Customers
An MLB.TV subscription usually costs $150 per year, but T-Mobile customers can continue to stream live and on-demand games without any additional charges. The service also provides subscribers with access to pregame and postgame shows, as well as team affiliates’ games on the MLB app. Viewers can access live and on-demand games on their preferred compatible devices while having the convenience of controlling the game with DVR options to pause and rewind the action in high definition.
According to T-Mobile CEO Mike Sievert, they aim to provide fans across the country with innovative ways to enjoy the game they love, both on and off the field. In addition to offering free MLB.TV to their customers, T-Mobile is committed to enhancing the game experience.
Record-Breaking Signups for MLB.TV
The deadline for the free signup period for MLB.TV for this year has already passed, unfortunately. The deadline for sign-up was April 4th. T-Mobile acknowledges that there has been a surge in the number of customers redeeming their free MLB.TV subscription this year, exceeding the previous years’ records.
Automated Ball-Strike System Powered by T-Mobile’s 5G Network
Moreover, T-Mobile has partnered with MLB to test an automated ball-strike system (ABS) powered by its private 5G network during some Minor League games. The telecommunications company assures that they will securely transmit real-time ABS data and video to prevent any signal interference via both the devices and the ABS application.
The new partnership extension between T-Mobile and MLB will undoubtedly help fans enjoy the game in innovative ways while providing exclusive access to all out-of-market home and away games. This partnership extension is part of a six-year journey for T-Mobile and MLB to offer breakthrough fan experiences through their 5G network.
