AirPods Pro Review: A Thorough Look at the 2nd Generation

Apple’s AirPods Pro (2nd Gen) is the company’s latest iteration of its popular wireless earbuds. Apple offer a number of improvements over the original AirPods, including active noise cancellation (ANC), transparency mode, and a customizable fit with four sizes of silicone ear tips. In this review, we will take a thorough look at the AirPods Pro (2nd Gen) to see how they stack up against the competition.

Comfort & Design:

One of the most notable changes with the AirPods Pro (2nd Gen) is their new design. The AirPods Pro (2nd Gen) come with four sizes of silicone ear tips (XS, S, M, L), so you can find the perfect fit for your ears. This is a welcome addition, as finding the right fit is crucial for getting the best sound quality and noise-cancellation performance from the earbuds. In my experience, the ear tips were comfortable and easy to put on, and I didn’t experience any issues with them falling out during use.

It comes with a MagSafe Charging case with U1 chip inside, the Precision finding of your location for your case. If you are closer to the case and somebody tries to steal it, then you can play sound from inbuilt speakers. The AirPods and the Case is made from IPX4 material and it is water resistant.

From touch control, you will manage the playback feature from the stem and also control volume by swiping up or down. One great feature is SIRI read the all-important message and informs as they arrive by audio notification.

One minor issue with the design of the AirPods Pro (2nd Gen) is that the stem is still somewhat prone to getting dirty. The earbuds themselves are relatively easy to clean, but the stem can be a bit more challenging. This isn’t a deal breaker by any means, but it’s worth noting if you’re someone who is particularly concerned about keeping your earbuds clean.

Noise Cancellation and Transparency Mode:

One of the key features of the AirPods Pro (2nd Gen) is their active noise cancellation, which uses advanced algorithms to block out unwanted background noise. ANC cancels two times more unwanted noise, so your listing will never interrupt anywhere. Adaptive Transparency helps to reduce sudden rise loud noise by 48000 times per second.

In my testing, I found the noise cancellation to be very effective, particularly in noisy environments like a busy street or a crowded subway. The earbuds were able to block out a significant amount of external noise, allowing me to focus on the audio I was listening to.

In addition to noise cancellation, the AirPods Pro (2nd Gen) also have a transparency mode, which allows you to hear the outside world while still wearing the earbuds. This is a great feature for situations where you need to be aware of your surroundings, such as when crossing the street or walking through a busy airport. In my testing, the transparency mode worked well, allowing me to hear what was going on around me without having to remove the earbuds.

Sound Quality:

In terms of sound quality, the AirPods Pro (2nd Gen) delivers a solid performance. The H2 chip makes AirPods Pro (2nd Gen) more effective in terms of sound quality. It produces three-dimension sound and stunning clarity audio. The AirPods have a balanced sound signature, with well-defined highs, clear mids, and decent bass. The audio is detailed and relatively crisp, and the earbuds do a good job of reproducing a wide range of music genres.

One thing to note is that the fit of the earbuds can have a significant impact on the sound quality. If you don’t get a good seal with the ear tips, the bass can sound a bit weak and the overall sound quality can suffer. It’s important to take the time to find the right ear tips for your ears to get the best possible sound from the AirPods Pro.

Connectivity and Controls:

One of the areas where the AirPods Pro (2nd Gen) shine is in their connectivity and control features. The earbuds use Apple’s proprietary U1 chip, which provides a seamless connection to other Apple devices. When paired with an iPhone, iPad, or Mac, the AirPods Pro will automatically connect as soon as you take them out of the charging case. They also support quick switching, so you can easily switch between devices without having to go through the pairing process each time.

In terms of controls, the AirPods Pro (2nd Gen) use a combination of touch and voice commands to perform various functions. You can tap the stem of the earbuds to play/pause music, skip tracks, and answer/end phone calls. You can also use Siri to perform a wide range of tasks, such as setting reminders, sending texts, and adjusting the volume.

Battery Life:

One of the benefits of the AirPods Pro (2nd Gen) compact design is that they have a good battery life. Apple claims that the earbuds can last up to 6 hours on a single charge, and the charging case can provide an additional 30 hours of battery life. In my testing, I found these numbers to be fairly accurate, and I was able to get through a full workday without having to recharge the earbuds. Qi-certified charger also works for charging.

Conclusion:

Overall, the AirPods Pro (2nd Gen) are a solid pair of earbuds that offer a lot of value for their price. They have a comfortable and discreet design, excellent noise cancellation and transparency mode, and good sound quality. The U1 chip provides seamless connectivity and the touch and voice controls are convenient and easy to use. If you’re in the market for a high-quality pair of wireless earbuds, the AirPods Pro are definitely worth considering.
